Braces for Children and Adults The American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) recommends that children should be seen for their first orthodontic consultation no later than age seven. This early checkup will give our orthodontists the opportunity to use early intervention to help prevent abnormal wear of teeth, injury to protruding teeth, correct damaging habits, or jaw disproportions. At Summit Orthodontics, we also provide orthodontic treatment to many adult patients. Occassionally, we provide treatment to patients in their 50s and older.
